La Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias ha anunciado hoy las 75 canciones candidatas para ser nominadas en la categoría de mejor canción original para la 86ª edición Premios de la academia.

Durante el proceso de nominaciones, todos los miembros con derecho a voto de la rama de música recibirán una lista de recordatorios de las obras presentadas en la categoría y una copia en DVD con los clips de las canciones. Se les pedirá a los miembros a ver los videos y luego votar en el orden de su preferencia por no más de cinco canciones en la categoría. Las cinco canciones que reciban el mayor número de votos serán las candidatas para la votación final para el premio. Un máximo de dos canciones puede ser nominado por una sola película.
Para ser elegible, una canción debe consistir de las letras y la música, las cuales son originales y escritas específicamente para la película. La interpretación tiene que ser claramente audible, tanto lírica como la melodía, y debe ser utilizado en el cuerpo de la película o como la primera canción de música en los créditos finales.
Las nominaciones a Premios de la Academia 86ª se darán a conocer en vivo el jueves 16 de enero de 2014, en el Teatro Samuel Goldwyn de la Academia.
Los premios de la Academia por sus logros cinematográficos sobresalientes del 2013 se presentarán el Domingo, 02 de marzo 2014, en el teatro Dolby® & Highland Center® en Hollywood y televisado en vivo y en directo por la cadena ABC. La presentación también será transmitido en vivo en más de 225 países y territorios de todo el mundo.
